Steve Gardner's last mini concert at Ebisu

Steve Gardner's last mini concert was held at What the Dickens at Ebisu on 8th of July.
This time, a base player Hisa Nakase performed together.

He came in around 8 o'clock and greeted to all the people in the place. While setting the instruments, he made a joke which made people laugh and feel comfortable. The concert started at 8:30pm with his humorous comments and soon the sound of guitar, harmonica, and base made the fabulous Blues rhythm. His joyful melody and voice flowed over and audiences had fun dancing and singing together. During a break, he had a talk with some fans and took picture with them. Especially, this time about thirty students and teachers from Aoyama Gakuin University also came to enjoy his music.

Steve Gardner is a rambling bluesman, born in Mississippi and based out of Tokyo, Japan. He plays acoustic country blues on resonator guitars, blues harp, banjo, washboard and one-stringed diddley bows- solo and with the Bottleneck Blues Band- all over Japan and across the big water back home in Mississippi.

From the middle of July to late in August, he is going back to Mississippi and then on down to New Orleans for his new record with Washboard Chaz, Bill Benfield, Hisa Nakase and the Jake Leg Stompers. After which he and his team have a 12 day tour around Mississippi and the other neighboring southern states.
